THREAD: Utilising university/work experience.

1) The local press is so important to share community stories. It also helps us at @ThinkAheadWigan get our message out there - so that stroke survivors and carers locally know of our services.
2) This thread is a direct example of how skills I picked up at @edgehill university are directly applicable in my career. I frequently wrote all sorts of pieces in a module aptly named 'Writing for the Media'. In this module I was required to write press releases.
3) I became quite used to the structure and how to write something effective which will grab the attention of the reader.

That was then mixed with the knowledge I gained at @loverugbyleague when writing articles on work experience.
4) I became used to sourcing a story from initial interview, through transcribing all the way to publishing.

Therefore, when Barry completed his challenge (story at end of thread) - I knew exactly what to do.
5) I interviewed Barry, wrote a press release and article for our own website, had the release signed off by Barry and relevant parties and got in touch with @WigToday.
