It’s important that people understand that this isn’t what destroyed Lebanon...it was ALREADY destroyed — ravaged by war, decimated by invasion, tainted with corruption. Already facing an economic crisis, a country relying on imports for survival has now lost its main port.

A country barely holding on to fragments of hope...a people familiar with destruction, attempt upon attempt to rebuild, demanding change...what do they have now?

The explosion itself came not a surprise — only the size of it. Do you understand what I’m saying?

If there is any hope left, it’s all they have.
