(I'll make this as short as possible)

As anon has said, Gold star lesbian refers to a lesbian who has never had sex with a guy. Now, why is this label harmful?

It's harmful because it further divides the community.
It perpetuates the narrative that lesbians who had sex with men are less valid than those who haven't. And of course, that's not true! Everyone's experience when coming into terms with their own sexualities are valid.

Also, it is harmful to bi people, gay people, trans people,+
or other gender nonconforming folks.

Why to bi people?
Because it implies that people who engage in a hetero presenting relationship are "lesser gays".

THEY'RE NOT, OKAY?
Why to trans people?

It's harmful to trans people because its basis is on the genitals of the partner you've slept with. Guess what? Trans men exist, trans women exist. Some men have vaginas, some women have penises.
Why to gay people (who took a long time before coming into terms with their sexualities)?

I've come out as bisexual first before realizing that I'm a lesbian. Some people sleep with other people first before acknowledging that they're not as straight as they thought they were+
They're not less gay for engaging in hetero sex, just like a str8 person isn't gay for engaging in gay sex.
This thread is all over the place, there are several other reasons why these labels are harmful, but the point still stands

Tl;dr: THE PHRASE GOLD STAR LESBIAN/PLATINUM GAY SHOULD DIE
