"We'll see how it goes."

I don't understand why this is the approach our govt is taking to reopening schools. What needs to happen for them to be willing to invest properly in keeping our kids safe? Why is @fordnation willing to take chances with their lives? 1/7 #onpoli #onted
I already lost a child to illness in the school where my living children still go. Now we have to choose between sending them back to an environment that is being made unsafe during a pandemic, or continuing to keep them home where they miss out on their education. 2/7
I am not a teacher. I don't have the skills, and I can't give them what they get from being in class with other kids. @fordnation is telling us he'd be nervous to send his kids, but isn't doing what it takes to make classrooms safe.

Why?

We're still learning how #COVID19 affects kids. We closed schools and have kept them home through this time, and we're only starting to see their risk of infection + potential to spread is higher than previously thought. We do know they'll be in school w/education workers. 4/7
We shouldn't have to choose between keeping our kids safe *or* sending them to school. What have these months of sacrifice been for? A drink in a bar? Why aren't safe schools a priority for this government? Why would we "see how this goes"? #UnsafeSeptember 5/7
Two million children attend ON public schools and every single one of them has the right to education in a safe environment. This govt choosing not to prioritize them is a devastating failure.

Let's be clear: @fordnation is choosing not to make schools safe for our kids. 6/7
We have one month until schools reopen. Months have been wasted, but we are not out of time for @fordnation to take this seriously and prevent more stories like mine. No parent should have a box of ashes that used to be their child. We should not take chances. #UnsafeSeptember 7
