Gonna listen to this playlist of songs with over 1 billion Spotify plays because devoting as much attention as I do to smaller artists, I have trouble keeping up with most popular music. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1IXtBpkocaFkghZ5Er1YTS?si=zA-h8IXPSjG6EdWIpw7aog">https://open.spotify.com/playlist/...
“Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran: I’ve heard this song, but never realized who it was. For some reason I thought Sheeran was more of an acoustic guitar songs type. This is much poppier than I expected, but a pretty good song, actually.
“One Dance” by Drake. This does nothing for me.
I had prided myself on not ever listening to Post Malone to my knowledge, so “Rockstar” is my first deliberate exposure. I guess it’s kinda catchy. Overall, meh.
“Closer” by The Chainsmokers. Not the worst thing I’ve ever heard, but still meh.
“Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran. Ok, this is more the kind of artist I imagined Sheeran to be. Not bad, really.
“God’s Plan” by Drake: I like the beat. I’m always in for an 808-type jam.
“Havana” by Camila Cabello. I know this song from a commercial. Very catchy. I get why people like it.
“Despacito (Remix)” by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, Justin Bieber: I like the Latin vibe. Would never seek this out to listen to for pure enjoyment, though.
“Lean On” - Major Lazer etc. Decent dance song, I guess. I feel like I’m missing whatever makes this the kind of song that gets 1 billion plays.
“Love Yourself” - Justin Bieber: pleasant enough. I dig it.
“Perfect” - Ed Sheeran
This is my least favorite of the three Sheeran songs on here so far. Still not bad, just not quite as memorable.

“Say You Won’t Let Go” - James Arthur
This is probably a lot of middle schoolers favorite song to sing to their significant other. But, for me:

“Sorry” - Justin Bieber
A solid pop song. Nice production.

Sheesh, people sure listen to a lot of this guy. Thank goodness this isn’t a Nickelback cover.
Another decent song from Sheeran. I’m not gonna go buy his album or anything, but he’s better than I expected.

“New Rules” - Dua Lipa
Nice beat, but I don’t really enjoy the lyrics or melodies.

“Starboy” - The Weeknd, Daft Punk
There are sections of this song I enjoy a lot more than others. I would like this more as an instrumental.

“Don’t Let Me Down” - The Chainsmokers
I like the verses with the nice guitar, but the chorus is a big nope from me.
Alright, taking a break from this playlist, but I do plan to resume this thread sometime soon.
