I've got to say the SQA results debacle is just peak SNP and exemplary of why I quit the party. They dress up their centrist and establishment politics in progressive language, offering only gestures that fix nothing. They have been in power for 13 years.
Have they implemented some decent policies? Yes. Have they carried on good policies that Labour implemented? Yes. But this "everything has to wait till after independence" argument is failing the most vulnerable who need help now.
You only have to look at how the SNP have shafted renters, protecting the capital interests of landlords while talking about how much they support renters. Or how Sturgeon claims to support the LGBTQ+ community and has done nothing on the rampant transphobia in the party.
The SNP need to be help accountable and pushed to do better, particularly from members, but especially by organising outside of party politics. Join a trade union, join a tenant's association like @Living_Rent, donate to @LGBTYS, or LGBT Unity.
If you can't stay away from party politics then join @scotgp (I'm not a member so this isn't a recruitment drive) but ultimately don't overlook the failures of the SNP because of Indy. It serves nothing and no one.
