What if the student knows about Mozart.. and the composers of Carnatic music and Joseph Bologna and Florence Price and so many others? Arguing for diversity in the curriculum is arguing for MORE knowledge, not less. https://twitter.com/deanakelly/status/1290906287329423365">https://twitter.com/deanakell...
2/ No one - BLM, or any of the movements for social justice - are arguing for the removal of knowledge, of the deliberate omission of knowledge. And to assume that protestors are solely focused on racism as âinsurmountableâ is ridiculous.
3/ The fact there is a movement at all suggests people believe the problem has a solution. The only insurmountable problem I can see here is there are people who donât believe there IS a problem to be solved.
I have addressed this exact argument here: https://theeducation.exchange/decolonisation-power-and-knowledge-in-the-curriculum/">https://theeducation.exchange/decolonis...
