Fun fact, a mental health professional once said to me: ”I’m not sure if it's possible for you to have Body Dysmorphic Disorder because there is ’actually’ something wrong with your body, so its natural for you to feel this way”.

I was 15, it was a year after my suicide attempt.
Wonder how many other people born with intersex traits/DSDs/VSCs have felt like they may have BDD.

I sure could have used the diagnosis, if not because I wasn't willing to share being intersex at that stage, the therapy could have helped me with healthy ways of dealing...
Also, if you look at how people deal with child sexual trauma or similar - some children will develop an eating disorder. It's a form of control they exert over their body which is in response to the feeling that they are powerless.

Has anyone looked at that for intersex kids?
