There’s a difference between making an effort to stop someone of an entity from causing direct harm to others via collective work and organizing

And

Deciding you don’t like someone and opting to not fuck with them or support what they do

I...want more people to understand the difference

I also want more people to understand they don’t have to spent time trying to get other people to dislike what they dislike so they don’t feel alone in their dislike

That’s insecurity and fear and it’s weird

Finally, I want ppl to stop feeling personally offended when people dislike something they love

It’s weird to see folks go on rants about the hows and whys of someone not liking something

Every ain’t abt deep critical analysis. Everything don’t need explanation

Accusing people of prejudice and bias for disliking something when you have no proof or indication at all that bias is the driving factor is...weird

But folks feel insecure when they love something and someone else, esp if “prominent” says, “This shit sucks”

Happens a lot when I say I don’t like something and people have the weirdest, most exaggerated, and ridiculous reactions to me not liking something they love.

They’re “surprised” or “didn’t expect that”

Why did you expect anything at all?

I feel like at least 3-8 times a year people try to “cancel” me and I’m like, “Yo, you do know it’s ok not to like me, right?”

Some folks need to hear that bc I’m not sure they’re aware they can simply dislike me and not have to invest so much time/energy into showing it
