Can we please discuss how “just get your groceries delivered”, is a really sh*tty option for disabled/chronically ill people?

There are SO many issues with the system from the major supermarkets. There’s got to be a better alternative.
First there’s the minimum order cost & delivery fee. What’s been happening is that people are getting things they usually wouldn’t, just to reach the min, then end up not getting the things they really need.
Delivery is a lucky dip. Many items frequently out of stock. But to try and get the thing you need, you need to order again... with another minimum order... another delivery fee... no guarantees...

See the issue?

Vulnerable get delivery because they can’t just “nip in store”.
Item substitution is a whole other problem. It wouldn’t be so bad if the substitutions were logical, like if the 2L is OOS, get 2x 1L. But to give an entirely different product?

Eg; a friend ordered GF flour. They got sent regular flour.
This can become a major issue with allergies etc.
Substitutions should just be different variations of the same product - different sizes/brand but the same product.
When they screw up, gift cards are sometimes given as a compensation which is nice. Until you realise that they can’t be used for online or click and collect...
The delivery fee is between $11-15. Normally stores have a larger window for a cheaper fee. When delivery was only offered to vulnerable people, this price for this window was increased to $15.
Product limits adversely impact disabled/chronically ill. I’ll order frozen meals for my very low energy days. But only being able to order two at a time, with the min order & delivery fees, is not sustainable.
My most recent order - I ordered the soup mix veg, because I use them to bulk up my slow cooker meals. I struggle with energy and dexterity in prepping regular veg, but this works for me. Out of stock. But not told til it’s too late to cancel/modify the order.
