often i fear conversing with people with strong political or social opinions, not from disagreement or any insular nature, but in my experience, most of them cannot distinguish between their beliefs and their character, which makes these things rather risky

since they're so caught up in the righteousness of their beliefs, they fail to see their own shitty character traits or act as if their ideas negate their shitty behavior. plus theres not point in holding most these ideas if you suck ass as a person anyways

"oh you hate me? that must mean you are against *insert sociopolitical idea here*" like no i hate you because you are an obnoxious, vindictive, bitter person, and hiding behind your ideas just shows you are more concerned with image than you are the improvement of society

dont degrade ideas that have existed long before you by making them synonymous with your shitty ego, and trying vehemently to start shit like that when there was no intention or indication of it shows you care more about inflicting punishment than you are for preserving peace
