Lebanon is a country that is located in Western Asia. It is boarded by Syria to the north and east and Israel to the south, while Cyprus is west across the Mediterranean Sea.
while most of us woke up to peace in our country, Lebanese woke up terrified as there was an explosion in the city of Beirut. according to an article, at least 10 people were killed and "dozens" wounded. the caused and total casualties are unknown until now.
what is happening in Lebanon? i'm sure yall are educated about what is going but if not, here are whats happening. as the world is going through the covid-19 pandemic, Lebanon was hit by a massive economic crisis since mid-October 2019.
the media did not cover anything on the topic and it broke my heart to only know that Lebanese is going through this. this could have lead to a famine in the country.
the situation in Lebanon is dire. people are starving. there are fears that the 1915-1918 famine will repeat. i am not willing to watch people there suffer. suicides reported in different parts of the country due to hunger and the economic crisis.
the main hospitals that are used for covid-19 have turned off some air-conditioners and postponed surgeries. do you realize how bad that sound? just because your country is living in peace that doesn't mean you could ignore the fact that there are other countries out there
who are suffering from different kinds of pandemics while covid-19 pandemic is still around. the crisis has lead to a huge unemployed of more than 30%. the national currency has collapsed and lost over 80% of its value ever since october.
