What are we?.... 8 months into the year ...and it’s absolutely mind blowing what people are really using their platforms to speak on. By all means do what you want with it. But don’t be surprised that your self-serving nature bites you in the ass.
You’re throwing yourself on the sword for your business interests.... and this is particularly for the music industry professionals so tone-deaf that they ask fans to buy music but haven’t engaged in a single fight their fans might be a part of.
I mean the ball is rolling now and a new industry is coming. Not even my doing. But thankfully many of your favourite acts won’t survive. These same acts don’t see anything BUT release schedules. So they probably won’t see these warnings either.
The amount of times over the years I’ve had to jump out of pocket in public and personal situations and try and help. I’ve advocated for people that have stabbed me in the back. Because I know there’s a bigger picture.

There’s a good reason why the Stormzy’s and @Santandave1’s have cemented a legacy because it centers the audience in the conversation and expression of their art. But similarly that has existed in older gen of Grime but those people aren’t as visible as I would like them to be
So the work @PrinceRapid has done with the @RuffSqwadArts around teaching and aiding youth in the community with music. He’s been on it for years. More of this needs to get shouted out.

Give people their flowers in the here and now.
Similarly people like @rxwntree and incredible producer and spent many years teaching and mentoring young kids.

So you can do both!! Serve your community and your musical passions.

But these are just some of the work and people that needed amplifying right now.
The community has had champions for YEARS which I’ve advocated for and spoke about most recently in the podcast with @She_Talks & @MISSLALAREPORT ...their pod is called @_2GirlsandaMic

I spoke about something called COUNTER CULTURE in the podcast.
There’s years of unlearning to do and reprogramming of values but it starts here. Today. NOW!
