It's a shame that any help Lebanon would accept from Israel, if at all, would be material and covert. Israel has proven itself to be a world leader in the fields of Medicine, search and rescue, and disaster management.

Think back 10 years ago to Israel's field hospital in Haiti
Reporters were shocked to find that in just eight hours that Israel had set up an advanced field hospital while the US, hadn't even started. I remember watching one reporter exclaim "my god, they have imaging".

Diane Sawyer described it as "legendary"
But it wasn't just Haiti. Israel has worked all over the world, helping those who need our tragically earned expertise.

Israel deployed emergency field hospitals to Nepal in 2015 after their earthquake.
More recently, Israel assisted Syrian civilians injured in Syria's civil war, treating them either at field hospitals on the border or in medical facilities inside of Israel. @ConanOBrien visited some of them a few years ago.
Some of the more cynical people have asked why Israel is capable of such medical marvels and yet "oppresses" the Palestinian people. It's part of the delusional campaign to somehow portray anything good that Israel does as simply a way to cover up our real evil intentions.
The real moral of the story is that Israel can be a great ally if the politics of hate could be put aside.

I would really hope that one day it won't be such a ridiculous notion that Israeli members of Zaka can use their expertise to help a country we once considered an enemy.
