7 in 10 felt lockdown had affected their baby.
The data shows that inequalities were exacerbated. On a number of measures low income families, young parents and BAME communities had a worse time and less access to support.

The quotes are really powerful. Families feeling isolated and abandoned. Examples of both amazing and awful care (one woman having to send a photo of her episiotomy stitches to GP receptionist Face screaming in fear).

Recommendation 1:A Baby Boost - an emergency injection of cash to support these families right now. Older children & many sectors of economy have had recovery packages. It’s time for needs of families who have experienced trauma during the first 1001 days to be recognised too. 6/
Recommendation 2: A Parent-Infant Premium - new resources delivered in a way that will focus attention of local commissioners on closing gaps in early outcomes. Based on the pupil premium, creating a premium payment that follows child from pregnancy. 7/8
Recommendation 3: A sustained increase in core funding to ensure high quality services for all families.
