Almost 24 hours on from the start of a twitter storm of stories related to the SQA’s insensitive structural downgrading of 130000 teacher predicted exam ratings backed by @JohnSwinney and SNP ‘to preserve the integrity of the exam results’ by preserving the attainment gap

This must rank as further evidence of the political ineptitude of this SNP administration. The stories of dreams blighted are heart rending. Will those families affected now trust the SQA and SNP Gov. to manage the appeal process fairly? There should be alternatives including

1/ An opportunity in an extra diet of exams when safe to hold for those affected
2/ scottish universities to step up and provide an opportunity for alternative entry route at least for professional qualifications like nursing and medicine.
3/ for those with a year to go

The option of Rejection of all results from this flawed assessment and sitting next years higher.
