THREAD: so, I’m not gonna drop names. but there’s a new “lounge” (with gentrification font ) that just opened up in a building which used to house a lovely, grungey 24/7 coffee shop here in San Marcos

When this building was bought a few months ago, word on the street was that it would be a martini bar. But that was wrong- it’s a “lounge.”

It’s a “lounge” that is open til 2am.

The fact that it’s currently open means it *must* derive 50%+ sales from food.

However, I’m sus.

I see a lot of places that seem sus as far as following current COVID guidelines, but I have a moral dilemma when it comes to reporting small biz owners.

Really, Abbott is to blame.

HOWEVER

I have had 3 yerba mate’s this evening.

I’m hype as fuck. All errands have been taken care of.

I don’t have shit to do.

So of course, I was researching this new “lounge” bc I am hard pressed to believe it isn’t just a bar in disguise

EVEN FURTHER, HOWEVER:

I saw pics of one of their employees wearing a blue-lives-matter-esquire mask.

Which means this place employees nazi-adjacent peeps, and I’m not down with that.

Especially when you mix that with the gentrification font and the spread of COVID.

So what this thread boils down to is-

I’m hype on Yerba, bitter that a fugly new “lounge” has taken over what used to be a dope grimey coffee bar, ready to do some petty research and report this place to a bureau that will likely do nothing about it.
