quick thread of all the races I was watching tonight and how initial results look.

let's start with #waleg
first up is Eduardo Castañeda-Diaz who ran a progressive campaign in the R+20% 13th district. he goes on to the general but underperformed the previous democratic nominee. gonna be a very uphill climb in the general
Tanisha Harris is running for the 2nd time to be the first Black person ever elected to #waleg outside puget sound; lots of votes left to count & she's already outperforming her 2018 run.

the race to fill Beth Doglio's seat after she ran for congress was interesting.

establishment rallied around Bateman, Glenda Brieler would've been only 1 of 2 Native members of #waleg, but Biggerstaff ran an inspiring progressive campaign and won @olympiadsa's endorsement
in the 26th, Joy Stanford is running to flip a seat and join Emily Randall. Interesting that she outperformed her white counterpart.

in any case, this is a race you'll want to invest in: https://secure.anedot.com/joyforwa/donate2020
in federal way, 2 Black candidates faced voters for the first time and both looking good for the general.

in the 37th @ElectKHT is riding a wave of zoomer support to 50%+ in a 7way primary. @Vanna_Orecchio & @blacktivist98 deserve tons of credit for running a campaign on taxing Amazon & defunding the police so damn well https://twitter.com/Kamaumaumau/status/1289027806035230720?s=20
big race: @twinaforsenate can flip this Senate seat & be the 1st Black person *ever* elected directly to the state senate in WA history. And she's *UP* on election night.

in the 29th, lots of us are pulling for @ElectSharlett's primary to unseat WA payday industry's favorite Dem with the only state legistlative campaign endorsed by Bernie Sanders.

an ~800 vote is a steep climb w/ an R in the race, but not impossible. lots of refreshing ahead.
a couple other races:

43rd: @SheraeLascelles & @jessimurray getting more votes than former Speaker Chopp on election night. I sense a retirement coming on ahead of redistricting if Chopp makes it past the general

5th: Labor primarying anti-tax, anti-GND Dem Mullet--and winning!
also HOLY SHIT DAVID HACKNEY IS BEATING HUDGINS!!!!!
all 3 are gonna be out of politics lmaooooooooooooooooo
Carolina Mejia ran & is winning BIG on abolishing ICE's working relationship with Thurston County's Sherrif. She could be the *only* Latina County Councilmember/Commissioner in the state (out of 39 counties & 130+ positions!)

Right now, @GirmayZahilay is currently the only poc
another big local race flying under the radar: @Sharonda4Judge,a former public defender, could become the only Black judge on Thurston's Superior Court. critical for position for working people+has jurisdiction over Olympia & gets all the big agency cases https://twitter.com/Kamaumaumau/status/1262634955705745408?s=20
