i had a whole thread already but twitter decided that it would be fun to refresh and delete EVERYTHING so i’m doing this again anyways...

this is happening and i have seen at least 6 threads talking about this. pls speak about this and spread awareness, this is an issue going in many countries not only in mexico.

according to the report, in january 2020, 74 victims were registered; in february 92 and March 78, giving a total of 244 women who were murdered due to gender. THAT WAS ONLY IN A 3 MONTH LAPSE
103 women were killed in july of 2020

here in mexico we did a movement called “a day without us” or “un día sin nosotras” all women in the country didn’t go to work, left social media and girls didn’t go to school. you can look for more information if you want.
the youngest victim was 1 year old and the oldest was 80 years old. now let me repeat that, A 1 YEAR OLD GIRL WAS KILLED JUST BECAUSE OF HER GENDER. and yet some people seem to not care about it.
the most recent case was genebit godínez, a 20 year old student who was found in her ex-boyfriend’s car trunk. this happened on july 31st of this year in mexicali, baja california, mexico. her ex-boyfriend is still free, we demand justice for genebit. #JusticiaParaGenebit

now i’m going to talk about fatima she had only 7 years old, she disappeared on February 11 when she was waiting for her mother after leaving school. A woman took her away. days later, on saturday the 15th +
her lifeless body appeared with traces of rape and torture inside a sack wrapped with a plastic bag, less than 5 km from her school.

let me say this again, this is not happening only in mexico, it’s happening all around the world but yet some people make fun of women who are trying to make a change, women who are scared.
and for all the men who is making fun of something big as this, you don’t know if your mother is going to be the next victim, or your daughter, your sister or your wife. that’s why we need to make a change.
sign petitions, donate, and spread awareness about this. WOMEN ARE DYING BECAUSE OF THEIR GENDER.
and if you are just going to ignore and say something mean or make fun or “it’s all our fault”, please leave the room and know that you are part of the issue.
i’m going to leave a thread of petitions and information so you can educate yourself about this.
