I love to feel proud of my blackness, because growing up I was taught that you had to walk, talk, and look a certain way to be “black enough” but overtime other people like me started to say something. I love my blackness, because it’s my own and no one can take it from me.
I do not have to change my hair to conform to a society that only values me when my hair is “controlled”
I am not a threat, but I will defend myself as it is my legal right.
Mixed with black is still black. Especially when that’s all anyone sees me as when they take a look at my skin
We are not only attractive when we are mixed or have European facial features
We can listen to whatever genre we want to
Being black and into things like anime doesn’t make us any less black
I do not “talk white” and an accent does not make someone ghetto
We are not here to fulfill your dream of having a pretty mixed baby
