This needs to be told. So, Tahir Hussain’s joke of a ‘confession’ is being widely celebrated by fools who don’t have an iota of knowledge about how this whole thing works. Under the Indian Evidence Act, a confession made by a person whilst in police custody is (1/n)
under no circumstances, admissible in evidence against the accused, unless it is made in the presence of a Magistrate. This man has been under police custody for the last few months which begs the question that how can we be so sure that he wasn’t coerced into confessing. (2/n)
There are thousands of such ‘confessions’ which are mostly extracted forcefully by the police.
If he’s guilty, he should be punished. It’s just a custodial confession, the court’s judgment still remains. Move along now. (3/3)
