What is happening in Lebanon and how to help (a thread):

What is happening:
2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate, a highly explosive material used in fertilizers and bombs, had been stored for 6yrs at a port warehouse without safety measures, endangering the safety of citizens. Multiple explosions happened suddenly.

Initial reports blamed the explosion on a major fire at a warehouse for firecrackers near the port, according to Lebanese state news agency NNA.
There were multiple explosions that reached tens of kms, buildings collapsed, neighborhoods shattered, and so far 78 are presumed dead, 4000 injured, and many are missing.
They currently have no electricity, even firefighters are missing, many have lost limbs, and the Lebanese Red Cross is in need of blood donations.
Lebanon is also in the midsts of a huge economic crisis.
Many nations have rushed to send aid such as France, Israel, The UK, Turkey, Qatar, Spain, Jordan, US, and Iran.
Many speculate that these explosions were purposeful but there is yet proof to deny or justify this statement. The prime minister has called for an investigation into the cause of these explosions.

Truly, my heart aches for the people of Beirut. I couldn’t help but cry because I cannot imagine the fear, the desperation, and how lost so many people and families must feel right now.
