Twitter is great, a community of like minded people, helping and striving. But let's talk about LinkedIn.
Firstly, whether we want to admit it or not money twitter is a bit of a bubble. It's a great place to be don't get me wrong but there is a whole world of business opportunity that LinkedIn could help with.
LinkedIn is the OG business social network. It has developed into a real content platform where valuable content and engagement are kings. Just like Twitter.
If you can grow a following here, you can grow a following there, if your offering is valuable.
Why should you be producing for LinkedIn?
Of the 500 million monthly users, only 3 million produce content. So if you post everyday, you will become a top tier contributor.
50% of all social traffic to websites comes from LinkedIn. Facebook and Twitter combining to make up another 40%. You have to see the potential that LinkedIn offers.
91% of marketing executives list LinkedIn as the top place to find quality content.
You could become a thought leader for your service. Freelancing, consultancy and training are all services you could offer.
If you think what you have to offer wouldn't succeed on LinkedIn, assess why that is and that might shed some light on if your business is scalable.
If you are gaining clients from Twitter, imagine the clients you could win from a network who actively search for talent.
