1. mindset about studying

6. stationary

-- 1. mindset about studying

im telling you none of what i will say matter if you don't carry the right mindset. studying is all about knowledge. don't base your knowledge on your grades and rather focus on how much you want to learn. it's just a matter of
discovering new things as a new day comes. you can do this! it's just school, it won't affect your life forever. take it seriously but don't take it too deep. i've been a perfectionist when it came to studying with a "be best or be nothing" mindset ever since
primary school, i ended up losing my childhood. it's not nice fr, that kind of mindset will drag you down.
-- 2. motivation, will power

losing motivation is a real thing. but how fast you can lose it is also how fast you can earn it! look around you, look at your parents. they might seem shitty sometimes, but remember that they're doing everything they can to feed you. pay them back.
if that's not the case, you have your friends! they'll be so proud of you. look at your pets. your idols! your dreams. you got this. you can do it.

it takes a lot of will power not to procrastinate. but your will power is also limited. use it wisely.
-- 3. tw // food; sleep

eat clean. eat enough. if you're trying to lose weight, do not eat less. eat clean and eat right on time. your health matters more than anything. chocolate, nuts, and mint help to focus on studying.

get enough sleep. your mind most likely won't work if
you're sleep deprived. can't sleep?

i read a research about ppl with insomnia lately. apparently, forcing yourself to stay awake (without distractions aka electronics) will help you fall asleep faster.

chamomile tea and lavander scented candles exist btw
also, drink enough water! don't drink less, don't drink more. there's an app called "plant nanny" if you're having trouble remembering to drink water. it reminds you and everytime you drink a cup, you water a plant in the app which grows over time. they also
calculate your weight x how much hours you're physically active to get how many ml of water you need everyday. the illustrations are very cute!
bro i switched 3 and 4 but nevermind
-- 4. study place, time

where you're most comfortable will be be the most ideal place to study. don't get any. u
guide from other people, make your own based on your lifestyle. here's an example!
do take breaks. do not study for 2 hours + without a break, it will cause something called a burnout.
-- 5. time management

please please please do get a planner. especially if you're in highschool. AND MORE IMPORTANTLY IF YOU WANT TO SURVIVE COLLEGE. Don't be afraid to switch classes, courses if it does not work for you. however i know some of you has their curriculum fixed,
but you can make it work. the key in here is to focus. finish your work first. (unless you wanna be like past me who wanted adventure so i made all my works rushed and stressful).

do manage your time. this is very important. you got this.
another college tip:

do NOT take classes before 9 pm. this is tested and proven by a lot of college gals that i heard complain everytime and if if you're a freshman/sophomore, do squeeze your classes on your schedule and free your junior/senior years for internship.
-- 6. stationary

it might seem funny but having stationaries you're vert excited with improves your studying. proven by me. get those cute pens and do decorate your notes. also make it organized so you don't get tired reading!
-- 7. dealing with procrastination

you can procrastinate.

i know this seems dumb but don't beat up yourself for procrastinating. it can happen and will happen somehow. this just goes back to your time management and focus.
-- music

music can be distracting especially when your favorite song comes on shuffle and you can't help but sing along. i don't really know how to advise you on this since I'm not strict when it comes to procrastination alone, but lofi music and white noise do help on focusing.
if you do not have any problems with it however, stream cysm <33
-- social media

there's a do not disturb button for a reason. if someone is spamming you while it's your study time, tell them to shut up. your family and friends should be understanding enough to leave you alone. if they do bother you on purpose, i do advice you to hit them :)
if you do not have any needs on your phone while studying, i do recommend this app. it has a timer in which when you exit the app the timer stops and continues again whenever on the app. when you succeed, you plant a tree!
this app also has a tree planting program in real life! please do check it out!
-- noise

do not be afraid to tell your siblings or cousins to stfu. the same thing goes with your dog.
also do not be afraid to go to your neighbor who throws a part every single damn friday. we're under a pandemic so you ca. report them. goodluck.
okay now on to the real thing
-- 8. apps, websites, youtubers that do legit help

it's okay to ask for some help. please please please

IT'S JUST GOOGLE.

idk who needs to hear this but searching on google is not a crime. i think i went under this phase but please do know that
you might not know every damn thing in this world but google can. head on.
if you're searching for legit information, there's something called google scholar. everything that goes up on this is reliable.
tips on google search!

- any topic followed by 'filetype:ppt' will have google show up only PowerPoint
- subject name followed by 'filetype:pdf' will show PDFs and free textbooks in pdf form
-- http://archive.org

THIS! archive is a non-profit internet library that has ALMOST EVERYTHING. it's a literal library in which you can /borrow/ pdfs of books etc. and will lose access after 2 weeks.
i heard that's legal btw you're fine
-- http://onstudynotes.com

this website might now involve all of the material but can help you on your notes. mostly for grade 11 and 12.

one of the reliable i can say. pretty much all subjects, covers all content and has recaps for you. it also helps for those taking gcses!

this is based on uk learning system but it may help. it has glossaries.
http://draw.io
http://es.venngage.com  (spanish)
http://slidescarnival.com

these websites focus on making learning materials if you want to improve those diagrams.

bro i can cry just thinking how much this website actually saved my life fr. and if you haven't realized, it's biology. learn biology. biology is exciting idc idc

ps. their website looks better on pc
-- http://shmoop.com
http://sparknotes.com

there are no words to explain how much i love books but sometimes, book reports can be the MOST annoying thing ever. I HAVE OTHER CLASSES SIR HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO READ THAT---
anyways, they basically summarize the book, it also has summaries for every chapter. almost all books are here. they also help with other subjects and essays!
still read the book tho, they made you read that for a reason. your pop up quiz might include nonsesnsical details.

ps. those kind of pop up quizzes makes me question my life
-- apps
-- textgrabber

i usually like to doodle on my printed materials which makes me REPRINT them again so i used this app. basically just picture and boom it's on text.
for iphone users, did you know there's something called "notes"? that app of yours have this scan feature too.
-- maths solver by Microsoft

BRO DELETE THAT PHOTOMATH RIGHT NOW. this is more reliable! it has scan, draw, and type feature. once it gives you the answers, it links quizzes, video tutorials, articles and more. life saver.
how it works:
it has worksheets, everything! this is literally the app for you if you legit want to learn. this blessing was given to me by an angel aka my bestfriend Luka love you bro
-- to do by Microsoft

this is nothing special, but if you're really meh about a planner this is for you.
BRO ASDJKJK HERE'S THE PIC
-- youtubers
-- math

- hegartymaths
- mathantics
- brian mclogan
-- science

- freesciencelessons
- it's aumsum time (kid's animation but very helpful)
-- science too (just biology tho because it's my favorite subject and i curse the existence of physics and chemistry); yt playlist version

- Campbell Biology by Kimmy Ko
- Biology by CrashCourse
- other subjects

- mrbruff (english)
- mr. finlayson (re)
- some important ones in the educational youtube community

- TED (c'mon)
- In59Seconds (i actually enjoy watching this)
youtube tip! :D

got a long video to watch but you only need a certain topic?

(this is on youtube web)
click the three button near the subscribe button > open transcript > command f on your keyboard > type the keyword
when you type the keywoard, it will show yellow in the transcript. if you click on that yellow, it will lead you to that part of the video. you're welcome.
-- 9. how to cheat :D

rule number one. don't cheat.

cheating is dumb. what we will call this is "outsmarting your teachers" :D
- using cheatsheets

it's completely fine to use cheatsheets to add in your notes. the more you know, the more things get easier. you can find lots of them in

example of cheat sheets!
- calculator hack on graphing equations

(note: make sure using calculator is fine by your teacher)

mode > click 3 > type the base function then the equation

it will show you the table hehe
- how to unblur the part of websites that is blurred

highlight the blurred part > right click > inspect element
after that it will show you this kind of transcript, find that part in the picture and replace "blurred" with none.
what i mean is to literally replace the "blurred" with "none".
- how to summarize wikipedia articles

too much to read?

click on the url and replace the "en" with "simple".
-- 10. how to deal with your annoying teachers

practice self-control.
-- 11. essays, research papers, projects

the moment any of these has been given to you, don't prelong it. do it as soon as you can. be creative with your projects! there are a lot of inspirations you can get on pinterest, we heart it, tumblr and you might not believe it
but reading things on reddit helps you build ideas. go all out on all of your performance tasks as far as you can go. this does not only show the effort, but it does improve your attitude towards creativity.
- essays

as much as i want to give you advices on this one, essays can be PAIN. lack of ideas will drive you insane and when that happens? it drags you to the dark until you can no longer write anything.
tips:

- my tip is to search for tips. there are a lot online and unfortunately i didn't have the time to sunmarize them all for you so i advice to search them on your own
- find reliable and trusted articles as your resources. on google search, when you type the topic follow them by "site:edu" or "site:gov". these sites are more reliable than anything else.
- lastly, enjoy writing. if you have a negative attitude towards writing essays, it will show on your work. writing is fun! learning is fun
- papers

for research, i advice you once again to use google scholar. i can't really help you on this, but i saved this a long time ago it might be helpful.
-- 12. study groups, clubs

i'm not forcing you to join clubs but it will really help you grow, not only academically but it helps you overall on growing. i can't really say much since we have different situations, and i don't want to offend anyone.
i have been classified as an introvert but i've never had things like... (insert tw)

problems in crowds, social interactions and anxiety. please your mental health is important, you don't need to do it if you want to. you're the most important in here.
for study groups, you can do it with your friends. though in college, getting a study PARTNER (emphasis on the SINGULAR) is important. if your dorm roomate is the same course as you, that's great, you're so lucky in life. if not, that's fine as well.
i saw the importance of study groups when i saw this. everything becomes so much easier when someone helps you but be mindful. this can be done online and please please do not host social gatherings even if it's study groups to help our situation.
maybe if i had friends i would show you how it's done but that was not the case so
- tips on exams!

i saw an economy professor teach this. if you google search the "subject+exam+site:edu" it shows you different exams from everywhere. tried this on my history once, helped me as a guide.
- another tip on essays!

if a teacher makes you write about the covid, you can do that BUT don't talk all about it alone. talk about a lot of things! how you overcame your limitations, how you coped with staying at home and a lot lot more.
one another tip!

i hope this wasn't true but typing essays in COMIC SANS DO HELP. idk if it's some psychological sht but words just come out. thank you, creator of comic sans.
-- 13. my last message

you might fail.

you might make mistakes. wait scratch that-- you will make mistakes. you are bound to have them, and that's fine. do not let your mistakes drag you down. overcome them.
reflect and see how did you make a mistake so next time it happens, you don't repeat the same thing. another one, please help youself.
remember, life is like a gameplay and you have no choice but to flow with it. there's no walkthrough for you. no one out there will come and instantly save you, you gotta save yourself first. you matter before anything else.
help others! that kid on your class that can't catch up? help them. it might not change anything to you but it can drastically change their life. you can make a difference.
lastly, you got this! read a lot. reading one article a day can change a lot of things. did you know that ĂŠ was a part of the english alphabet before? see? there's a lot of interesting things, you just need the eyes to see them.
i'm so proud of you! go smash those studies, tiger! 🌠
