there's a privilege to being weird for weird sake & being deemed a genius

In the privates of my home, I neigh like a horse, do "baby stomps," & have full conversations w/ my husband as a DOG. but I've had to warm up to even sharing that w/ the public bc as an immigrant I was a freak with an accent & had to work to fit in just to do "regular comedy" lol

now that I can do "regular comedy" well, ppl have called me "an observational comic, like Jerry Seinfeld" & it's like, BOY I tried being my weirdo self at first--but it was always tied to my race. "It's a Japanese thing!" Anyway my next album will just be me doing bits about pens
