Medical specialties as cereals, a thread.

Family Medicine - Cheerios. It’s good for the heart, lowers cholesterol, and the scope of cheerio flavors is broad from apple cinnamon, honey nut, and frosted. This is cereal at its most basic.
Pediatrics - Trix. Probably don’t need to explain this one but you know Trix is for kids.
Psychiatry - Fruit Loops. No I’m not calling patients fruit loops. You do have to be a little loopy to be in Psych though (it’s why I considered it) and who ya gunna call for that loopy delirium? Psych.
ED - Fruity Pebbles. Good ED doctors are the bedrock of a good hospital.
Ortho - Rice Krispies. Let’s be real, snap, crackle, pop and three men on the box? Yup this is Ortho alright.
OB/GYN - Life. No or works harder than this group. Bringing life into the world every day. No question OB is life.
IM - Corn Flakes. This is your basic medicine. Also rooster on the box obviously represents walk up 7 hours before sunrise to round and get to work.
GI - Mini Wheats. Definitely this is the cereal if you need fiber in yo it diet. Screams GI to me.
PM&R - Wheaties. You wanna get stronger huh? Eat your damn Wheaties.
ENT - Captain Crunch. Let’s face it they cut the roof of your mouth no matter how many times you try em.
Gen Surg - Raisin Bran. Mostly because there’s a sun on the box and by the time the sun has risen surgeons have already been working for 9 hours.
Rheumatology - Lucky Charms. This cereal is mostly looking through the bland regular old pieces trying to find the rare more exciting marshmallows. So Rheum seems like a good fit.
Radiology - Honeycomb’s. I have no idea what a honeycomb lung looks like. But I bet Rads does?
Palliative Care - Frosted Flakes. No one wants corn flakes (sorry IM) but add some frosting and you can make the best of a bad situation.
Milk - RNs, PT, OT, SLP, PAs, NPs, Pharm. Let’s face it, we need y’all.
