Lack of gratitude is the single biggest problem in the United States today.
What we've seen over the course of the past few months is a reminder that civilization is a thin veneer and when it starts to wear away things get very ugly very fast.
Younger generations in America do not understand this. They believe that prosperity is natural. It's not. Only civilized institutions that protect private property and personal rights create wealth.
The state of nature is poverty, suffering, chaos. Outside of the West, this is the reality for billions of people. In history, this has been the reality.
It is astonishing how few people are grateful for the civilization and nation they were so fortunate to be born into. Ingratitude is one of the greatest sins of humanity and in the United States it certainly is prevalent.
