If you are suddenly interested in industrial safety, it has huge parallels in security.
The US Chemical Safety Board (which the Trump administration is draining and killing) recently released a retrospective on their investigation into Texas City.
The USCSB is the NTSB of industrial chemical process safety.

Despite its purview regularly killing and maiming people, it remains under-resourced and only able to work on a limited number of investigations each year.

Currently it’s been sabotaged and cannot make rulings.
It’s not even a regulatory agency, it does year+ investigations into root causes of costly accidents and makes recommendations for how to improve safety and avoid massive disasters.

They’re being killed just because they exist as an audit and the government is being burned down.
Here’s the video on the 2013 ammonium nitrate explosion in Texas. Been a few years and got West, Texas mixed up with Texas City 🥵. Lots of famously bad shit has happened in Texas.
I can never explain why but one of my favorites is the T2 explosion.
This is like a Tom Cruise movie of tragic worker death caused by companies cutting corners
This is the wildest shit that has ever happened
If you haven’t been following the White House’s murder of the Chemical Safety Board, it’s madness. The chemical industry AND unions wants them staffed! Costs $15mil, disasters cost billions. Republicans and Democrats don’t know what the hell is going on.
