This so profoundly absurd.
If we don’t continue to use the same distribution method that was the only technologically feasible one at its time of creation, it is no longer the same art form!
Just say you like watching movies in theaters and would feel bad if you can’t! That’s totally valid! But stop treating it like a requirement of the art form, please!
Dear lord, anyone raised from the 80s on had the vast majority of their film experience piped into their brain on small TVs. We haven’t been seeing movies primarily in the theater for decades.
Also who is “deciding” that movies *should not* be in theaters anymore? Who is saying someone should? This kind of thing gives me such a headache.
Seriously, what the actual fuck.
This is hot garbage on so many levels it’s hard to pull apart. If you can’t make a great piece of art without imagining how it’ll play in a crowded theater, that sounds like a creative block to get over. And this is an absolutely incorrect take on a what “TV” as a medium means.
