it just kills me how desensitized people are to the deaths of non Western (or more so non-white) lives and the destruction of these countries.. these are REAL people.. they bleed the same blood as you, they feel the same pains.. why do their sorrows not make you sad and angry?

when did we decide that one Eastern life holds not the same value as a Western one? why do we feel we're so different, so much more worthy of the comforts of life, so much more worthy of life itself? how do we sleep peacefully at night without giving a DAMN about these people?

how does you heart not sink when you hear stuff like this? when you hear the desperate prayers of the people of lebanon to find people still missing? when you hear tales of Iraqi&Syrian refugees? and ao many more. why is 911 the only example of a modern world tragedy you know of?

my heart hurts.. may God have mercy on the souls of all these people and may He have mercy on OUR souls for allowing these people to suffer and their voices to go unheard.. one thing i urge you to ask yourself is "how can i contribute to remembering those who have been forgotten"
