As a nursing student who just pursued digital art recently, I didnt think much of my work. And I definitely did NOT expect to get enough clients to buy this 4 DAYS after opening comms!😭💓

Because a lot of ppl asked, heres a thread on how I got commissions + some other tips!
Although it isnt everything, but it definitely helps to have a greater audience reach when doing comms! While it varies from person to person, I opened comms when I was nearing 1k. But I have moots who are very successful with even less!
If you want your comm sheet to earn more support, then do the same for ur mutuals! Interacting with their works, sheets, even wips is a great way to boost your engagement and keep the algorithm kind to you. so theres a higher chance ur comm sheet shows up on the TL wen u post it!
On twitter, try searchin keywords like "Looking for artists" "looking to commission" and commenting ur comm sheet on tweets of clients! make sure u fit the description theyre looking for tho! and dm them as well if u can (unless they say not to. and dont spam!) an alternative...
💓 special tip: If u have 1 or 2 pieces that u think absolutely fit their description (eg: they asked for anime artstyle so pick 1 or 2 of ur best anime art) and use that instead of ur commsheet! then just link ur portfolio and ur rates! that catches their attention more. 😁
Building an audience on twitter is great, but don't forget other socmeds too! Instagram is great, tho I didn't get clients there bc im inactive there so i wont discuss it. Make a reddit acc & boost its karma! U need at least 25 to post on most art subreddits like r/hungryartists
Reddit: r/hungryartists and r/drawforme r sum good subreddits. Post one piece that best describes what ur selling, or make a collage of ur best works. You can also post ur comm sheet, tho I rarely see that. If u do fanart, post it in the fan subreddit! (ig: elsa fanart= r/frozen)
Make sure to leave a link to ur portfolio under ur post's comments, along with a statement like "im doing commissions!" I also learned this but u should only post once a week to avoid spam (give others a chance bro), so choose a good time! They say 5pm PH time is best. :D
art comm subreddits have "flairs" like Hiring or ForHire. check the Hiring flair to see clients looking for an artist specific to their commission. make sure ur art fits their comm request before recommending urself! try chatting them personally if u can (unless they say not to!)
