There’s this one scene that made me CURSE and it’s when they’re walking outside after bella passes out from doing blood types in class and then she turns her face up to the rain & Edward is like omfg?? Other girls wouldn’t even do that because they’re wearing MAKEUP

then be goes on an entire rant against the beauty industry and how bella doesn’t need makeup bc most girls buy products to make their skin look like hers and it should not escape you that she’s very pale and this not only bad and stuck in 2005 but also r a c i s t

Lol there’s alot of filler stuff and Edward just protecting bella from tripping or whatever but what strikes me the most is all the women who wanted Edwards D that we didn’t know about. Namely I found out why Rosalie hated bella so much from jump & it’s bc she was JEALOUS

Ok so Edweird’s whole reasoning for stalking bella is bc she can’t get through life on her own without his protection, words can not express how much I hate this

I’m at the scene where they’re having dinner in port ángeles and that one waitress wants edweirds D and he’s telling blehlla how he wanted to murk her I feel like everything is taking even longer to get to bc edweird has so many feelings most of them RAGE

There’s a lot of girls hating girls which is unfortunate & also a trap bc alot of them are written as terrible so you end up disliking them too. It makes me grateful that a lot of YA has moved away from those tropes in a big way, we have a lot better stuff to choose from now

Also I’d give up my right boob for a book told from the POV of the Black kid who almost crashed into bella with his car omfg the hilarity of seeing all these shenanigans from that vantage point

The cool girl trope is very strong with Blehla , everyone wants her but she doesn’t notice or know she’s pretty (brown Jesus forbid) doesn’t wear makeup, doesn’t like shopping or anything considered “frivolous”

the most realistic thing about this book is bella knowing edweird is a demon and not giving one single fuck bc that would be most of my white friends

There haven’t been any jokes in this book or at least any that were actually funny or made me laugh and I think that’s a mistake tbh bc I’m laughing anyway

Rosalie thinking “CAN U SHUT UP!!?” whenever edweird is talking to Blehlla is my favorite part of the book so far.
