The Amazing Spider-Man - Costume appreciation [THREAD]
I had lots of fun yesterday doing the two threads dedicated to the SM and SM2 suits, so I decided to continue with the suit worn by Andrew Garfield in 2012, a suit and I Spider-Man actor I particorally love!

I mean, do I even have to say anything? This is gorgeous to me! His colors, his textures and webs done in serigraphy, and for the first time on the big screen, the webs are actually black, and they look badass! I love how lean he looks, I love the sports shoes and lots more.
The way the light hits this suit it& #39;s magnificent to me.
Also, I remember how in this moment I had a super big smile in theater, it& #39;s exacly the kind of scenes I loved from the comics, it reminded me the many panels of Spider-Man speaking to someone thru a pubblic telephone.

"Ahem, you know, in the future, if you& #39;re gonna steal cars, don& #39;t dress like a car thief, man."
"My weakness, it& #39;s small knives!"
Spider-Man can look pretty scary and I love it. This movies really dives in that "creepy" look that Ditko gave to him in the first stories.
"He& #39;s a criminal that& #39;s who he is! A vigilante! A public menace!"
(Since J.K. Simmons came back to be the J. Jonah Jameson of the MCU, I& #39;m now convinced that the Jameson of this universe also looked like that. J.K.& #39;s Jameson is a multiversal constant).

Can we take a moment to appreciate that this is a stuntman? The "grounded" aspect of this movie is fantastic to me.
Such a cool way to use his ability to stick to stuff, I& #39;m always glad when they get creative with his powers, instead of just using them in a more unimaginative way, it shows how smart Peter is and how he uses the "tools" that he was given in the most clever way.
This is the flexible faceshell they used in some scenes. It doesn& #39;t look as good as the solid one to me, but it& #39;s still a very creative way togive him more Spider-Man look and having the liberty of letting him taking away his mask in one shot.
Andrew Garfield look so much like Peter Parker to me and beware, I& #39;m probably gonna say it a lot in this thread.
Hey look, it& #39;s Peter Parker!
The gloves having both the red and the blue is such a great idea. I& #39;m glad they took inspiration from good old Ben Reilly for that.
Garfield is such a great actor he can communicate emotions just staying silent completely covered in spandex.
The horror roots of Ditko coming back from the 60& #39;s.
I love the contrast between the cool Spider-Man moments and Peter just chillin out like a normal teen.
I love this little moment.
Also, those are the stunt lenses, they are a little bit larger and clearer than the ones they usually show, to help the stuntmen move around with a clear vision.
They also look really good imo.

It& #39;s clear that they wanted to go thru the dark root with this film, that& #39;s what was hip at the time, and they made it work so well.
"I& #39;m just gonna take a Spider-Nap for a minute"
It& #39;s school time!
"Uh-oh! Someone& #39;s been a bad lizard!"
It& #39;s cool to see how this suit is a little bit ruined after a while he has worn it for some time. It& #39;s also cool to see the part where the collar is detached from the mask.
Andrew Garfield just screams "Peter Parker" to me. I miss him.
(I also love Tom in the role, but still, I miss Andrew).

"Did you hear what...? Gwen! Gwen? You mother hubbard! Are you serious?!"
I think this is the most clear look that we get at the front logo.

Let& #39;s take a look at the Spider-Back.
"He& #39;s extremely cool"
Here& #39;s a nice shot at the mask.
You can also see how it maintains a certain shape, thanks to the flexible shell.

This poor dude is so tired, but that doesn& #39;t stop him to look stellar.
The lenses almost look like the classic reflective white here. I still adore the golden look, but this is cool too.
I& #39;m not sure if this is the actual suit or the CGI model, that& #39;s how good the CGI is in this movie.
Still I& #39;m fairly convinced that it& #39;s the real one, and it looks dope.

Spider-Gloves, Spider-Gloves, they look cool, when they have blue.
(And also when they are just red. They look cool in general, but they look EXTRA cool with some blue).

This is part of the reason why I love the mechanical web shooters and I will always prefer them to the organic one.
Spider-Man obviusly relies a lot on them, both in-universe and iconographilly, so when they don& #39;t work or get broken, you immeditaly know it& #39;s serious.

Peter trying his best to not make Mr. Freeze-like puns.
(I& #39;m obviously referring to the "Batman & Robin" one. TAS and well written comicbook Freeze would kill everyone who says "COOL PARTY!" to him, and with reason).

TASM Peter on his way to set the template for the final fight in "Marvel& #39;s Spider-Man".
And here it is. It looks like he& #39;s going fight Doc Ock in a super cool black armor.
