I stand with my fellow women in Turkey in solidarity with the women we have lost 🖤🖤🖤

When I learned about the tragic meaning and start behind these black & white photos of women, I wanted to use this opportunity to learn and spread some awareness about the murders, on women, happening in Turkey.
Turkey has one of the highest rates of femicide. The B/W photos of women you see around social media is a sad reality in Turkey. Every time they see a B/W photo of a woman, on the news, it’s filled with grief & horror, because it means yet another woman has been murdered.
Just in 2019, almost 500 femicides happened!
But that’s only the recorded, many many goes unrecorded, and it is expected to be a lot higher in 2020.
I read about a study, that said around 42% of turkish women ages 15-60 years old experiences physical &/or sexual violence by their husband or partner. Can’t even begin to imagine what being in quarantine means for turkish women.
The turkish government wants to back out of the Istanbul Convention, which is an attack on human rights. Women’s right.

The more awareness & attention around these matters means more can be done to fight for humans BASIC’s rights to live.
It’s 2020 & we still live in a world where murder can go completely unnoticed. I wanna be a part of a generation that fights back and STOPs this madness.
