Why media keep reporting on Johnny Depp’s career being ‘over’: a thread.

They’re uneducated and refuse to acknowledge that men can be abused.

Their ignorance is a selling point. Seeing Johnny’s name on an article will receive clicks. People seeing Amber’s name alone will have minimal interest because no one likes her anyway.

They don’t like that Johnny’s going after one of their own (the sun). If Johnny wins this, there’s nothing stopping him from going after other media outlets that slandered him.

They don’t actually think his career is over, they know people will get mad about it but it increases their interactions and that’s all that matters to them.

They’re protecting Amber Heard because of the #MeToo movement. They’ve heard the tapes but refuse to acknowledge they exist because it doesn’t fit the believe all women narrative they’ve been running for ages now.

They don’t care that a living human being is going to see what they’re saying about them. They don’t care about the impact on his mental health but will be the first ones to claim ‘he was a troubled soul, fighting his demons’ if he ever actually did anything to himself.

After building a big star up, the only way to continue to make money from them is to tear them down and make them out to be the bad guy. Sadly, positive stories don’t sell as well as scandals do.

They have no morals. Money means more to them than having a clear conscience.
