Here's a thread with a few tips for any guys out there who want to message a female after a match or game im something like Crucible or Gambit with the desire to pick them up, hit on them, woo them, date them, screw them, or any other for of endeavor of that variety
Thread below
Basic tips :D

1. DON'T.

2. Do not.

3. It is a horrible idea.

4. NO.

5. Do not message women you run into in videogames with the explicit desire/plan to hit on them, date them, flirt with them, pick them up, or bang them.
I cannot count the times I've been messaged after a Crucible match by a guy who starts flirting with me, hitting on me, trying to "get in my pants", and other creepy ass things.

A. Videogames. Is. Not. The. Place. To. Pick. Up. Chick.

There are plenty of other places for that.
I get that many guys out there who game want their girlfriend to be a gamer as well, but messaging a lady you met in a match is not the way to do it.
If you do want to date a girl who likes to game there are plenty of respectful ways to do it.
One of the more direct ways you could do this is by using a dating apps and specifically saying you're interested in a girl that enjoys gaming.
In a more general sense of it there's a lot of ways you could date a woman who likes gaming, just by being active in gaming communities and events will probably bring you in contact with many women who are advent gamers. That may lead to finding the love of your life, who knows.
On a more seriously note however, please please please please please do not expect random ladies you message after matches to be ok with it. There are some women out there who are fine with it, and of course there's the girls who are "gamer girls" who play just to get attention,
but that's only about 2% of female gamers and they're generally not gonna be cruising around grinding out Crucible on their own.
And another thing: you don't even know if this complete stranger you met in a match is even a girl. You never fully know if a player is a girl of a guy
no matter how feminine or masculine their character, bio, name, pfp, or whatever is.
It's just overall a bad idea.
Now. I do know there are plenty of you out there who may message a player with simple good intentions like offering advice, being friendly, congratulating and so on
Honestly it's so refreshing when people do that, especially when half the after match messages I get are insults, sexism, and creepy pick up lines.
Unfortunately things like this can get misinterpreted and cause problems. If you message a woman and compliment her on her play
style or whatever and she gets offended, calls you a creep, or tells you she's got a boyfriend, just simply explain you didn't mean it in that way and we're just being nice. Most ladies will understand that, and if they don't just don't bother continuing messaging them.
I personally have found myself to be pretty blunt and straight forward when getting messaged something like hello after a match. I'll say things like "What do you want?" "Who are you?" "Why did you message me?" "What." and it's not that I mean to be rude with this, just that I'm
so used to guys being innapropriate in messages after matches that when I see that Person#2946382 has messaged you notification pop up my first reaction is to go "Oh god not this creep shit again."
This is probably true for other ladies as well, but not true for others.
Just to add one more thing, messaging a person after a match who has a female name or character with the question "Are you really a girl" is just like... no. Don't do it, you don't need to know it's not pertinent information for you to have and if you just want to know if they're
female or not so you can't hit on them it's even worse.
99% of women you run into in gaming are there for the gaming aspect of it and don't want to get hit on by randos who think it's appropriate.
That's most of what I wanted to say, may add to this thread in the future, I dunno.
Feel free to discuss this or whatever, but just remember that this is more or less my opinion and viewpoint on this stuff. Other gamer girls probably have different ideas about this stuff.
