This was almost my point from the beginning. If you read my essay on it ( https://newdiscourses.com/2020/08/2-plus-2-never-equals-5/) you'll see. The deviation from this point is that applied postmodernists (or critical ones) determine validity by appealing to prevailing systems of power. It's ALMOST the Party. https://twitter.com/mjsteudeman/status/1290748066589540352
The Woke (Critical Social Justice, or applied postmodernist) approach to 2+2 is "4 is the value connected with hegemonic power that needs to be disrupted and dismantled; it's not wrong but is connected to problematics that need deconstructing."
In that sense, the Woke position on 2+2 wouldn't be to force people to confess it's 5 or even that it's not 4 but that its being 4 is problematic, which is actually ridiculous. This actually puts it well into the realm of the Party as outlined by Orwell in Nineteen Eighty-four.
It's very easy to dodge the connection to Orwell with this whole 2+2 thing because of the postmodernism at the heart of Critical Social Justice, but forcing people to say "2+2=4" upholds systemic oppression is really the same thing AND worse at the same time.
It's one thing to force people to claim unreality as reality. It's another thing to force people to deny reality completely. It's still another thing to say that the only reality is that which is and isn't "problematic" and THAT'S what's up to the Party. That's Wokeness.
