I get that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are apologetic for having their wedding at a plantation, but who was the person that thought this was a great venue? In college my friends wanted to stay in slaves quarters in east Texas on a plantation. Why? What’s charming about that?
Last year they flew drones over auschwitz and the country side and buildings were charming LOOKING. But would anyone in their right mind think, this aesthetic is perfect for OUR WEDDING???? I digress....but seriously. Common sense and compassion.
I live in the South. I know it’s very common. But, does that make it okay? Do we forget the atrocities that went on there? Just because it’s always been done?
