I was in Twitter jail for 4 days.

I was locked up and couldn't grow.

It got to me a little but I overcame it swiftly.

Here's what I did.

# A thread.
On an average my growth rate is 35-40 followers daily and a 6.0% engagement rate.

All of a sudden sometime last week It suddenly seemed like I was regressing and wasn't growing.

I was averaging 5-10 followers daily and had lots of unfollows.

After the 3rd day, I was worried.
You see, everyone on the journey of Twitter would go through this stage.

If you're in this position, here's what I did.

1. The first thing to do is to take a look at your Twitter analytics, you can check it here 👇

https://analytics.twitter.com/
The key metrics to check are;

✅ % of average engagement
✅ Average no of Likes
✅ Average no of Retweets
✅ Tweet performance

For mine I noticed that my engagement rate dropped from 6.0% to 5.1-5.2%.

No of Likes remained constant.

No of Retweets increased.

July 24-27.
This was a curious case and I was worried.

People were liking and retweeting, but weren't engaging,

This was a huge problem as Twitter loves engagement,

So I had to fix the engagement issue.

As any money Twitter would do,

I reached out to two of my OG's
@wayoflife0620

And

@CryptoSheen__

They both carried out detailed analysis of my account and this what we noticed over the 3_4 day period.

✅ Quality of tweets were poorer
✅ There wasn't any threads
✅ I wasn't asking my followers questions.
I was but hurt..lol..

But I had to make changes.

Twitter is a machine and it's daily meal is engagement.

I needed to revive my engagement.

These were what I did.

1. I decided to write two threads daily for the next 7 days.

As you can see, my engagement started rising slowly
I wrote two threads daily and posted both of them in my engagement groups.

I asked for Retweets and my Twitter family made it happen.

Further more, you get more likes off a thread than a single tweet and this improves your ranking in the algorithm
I made the threads conversational so my followers had no choice but to comment.

2. Changed the quality of tweet.

Resorted to using more lists and tweeted more about Twitter growth.

Like I've tweeted for the past 10times,

When in doubt, always Tweet about Twitter growth.
3. I started asking my followers questions.

I'll pick the best time of daily engagement to ask questions.

Different questions for different days.

The engagement built up rapidly and my engagement started shooting up.

4. Which is the most important,
Always have a bulletproof mindset.

Don't compete with anyone.

Compete with yourself.

Don't be attached to followers count.

Be focused on quality.

It sets you apart and establishes you as an authority.

Quality wins on Twitter.
