Do ya'll find it weird that as Americans we learn about the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki as a noble thing when it was really mass murder of 120,000 civilians? Or is that just me?
I'm really not trying to debate if it was necessary or not, all I'm saying is the bombings are extremely romanticized in movies, photographs, and pop culture and that just doesn't sit right with me.
I know Japanese Imperialism was just as bad, and swept under the rug. I implore you all to read "The R*pe of Nanking" if you're unfamiliar, but I'm just reflecting on aspect that hundreds of thousands of people died inhumanely and that shouldn't be celebrated imo
