Many people are thinking/writing about reopening schools (dangerously) as a mere “bodies in rooms” issue. These takes lack crucial considerations for what teaching *actually* looks like. (Necessary accommodations, special education rooms, limited space, lack of equipment, PPE...)
School is not childcare.
Teachers are not required to “take one for the team.”
If it is unsafe for the president, it is unsafe for the rest of us.
I don’t have all the answers nor will I ever pretend to. But rushing kids and teachers and support staff back into buildings without a plan is dangerous. People will die because of the carelessness in Washington.
