Since this is a conversation we’re having, here’s my 2 cents
I have never put abridging or fandub work on my resume or talked about them in a professional setting. Ever.
And yet, I have been removed from professional projects I have been cast in once they found out I did those.

I would never actively discourage anyone from doing fandubs or abridging work as a hobby. That would be absurd of me, of all people.
But please be smart and understand that if you widely promote this stuff as your work, it will have a negative consequence for you professionally.

To my knowledge I have never been cast in a professional project because of my abridging works.
I know I have lost work because of it.
It’s that simple. I’m sorry it’s that way, but it is.
