As much as @universityofky claims to have a grasp on the plan to reopen, they do not. Testing students one time does nothing for the inevitable parties and bars where transmission will be rapid.
Refusing to test faculty and staff just shows the university has no interest in safety of the whole community at and around UK.
@universityofky hasn’t reduced class sizes, hasn’t really been consistent in their online/hybrid policy, and their plan only address surface level issues regarding an outbreak on campus.
This reopening without a deeper plan besides test test test will lead to awful results. @universityofky changed classes in the middle of the night and trapped students into housing agreements where they have classes all online.
they’ve passed the baton to deans, professors, and department chairs on hybrid and online classes. Some students have said that their professors expect “healthy” students in every class. What is the definition of healthy to oneself vs a professor?
UK is quick to grab up cash from students through these entrapments of housing agreements and these exorbitant fees for distance learning. @universityofky is subsidizing their reckless spending on vulnerable commmunities.
COVID-19 is a real threat. Forcing students to choose to be on campus because one professor won’t change to online is reckless and endangers the bright minds on this campus.
