tw// sexual assault mentioned, "victim blaming"
-

I want to talk about victim blaming. A lot of you think it's a word that solely belongs to sexual assault victims and that isn't the case. victim blaming can be used in any scenario where there is a victim (theft, catcallingetc)
you cannot gatekeep a word that is used for many situations. You don't get to talk about "they're disrespecting survivors of SA", because you're doing that by throwing our experiences around to fit your narratives.
By saying this, and saying that he should expect to be sexualized because of the music he puts out, or dance moves on stage, that IS victim blaming! it's literally the same as "well the girl was wearing a skirt so I touched her thigh".
how can you sit there and try to justify your actions when so many people are telling you it's wrong? It's not misogyny, I'm not saying "don't be horny", we can all agree harry is an attractive man but going out of your way to describe in detail what you'd do to a stranger..
how would you feel if a random person did that to you? how would you feel if strangers tweeted sexual things about you? why is it a one way street to treat people like that? and then to top it off, you gatekeep a word and strictly say it belongs to SA survivors??
fucking disgusted with all of you. I don't speak for everyone, but just because I was assaulted/r*ped it doesn't mean I get to go around and say who's being a victim and who isn't. y'all need a reality check. End thread.
