we seem to have forgotten all this and placed our faith in the augury of birdsigns.

then, you hit the herd immunity/disease breakpoint, that looks to be 12-25% here depending on location, & disease attenuates because it cannot spread well anymore

none of this did anything. covid comes when it comes and burns out when it burns out.

the rest of this is just the most expensive game of pretending that rain dances make the rains come in the history of humanity.

the need of the fearful to engage in the conceit of having control over that which cannot be controlled has driven the world mad in hopes some magic talisman or leader will protect us.

but none of it is real.

it's a drowning swimmer clutching at an anvil.

and we need to wake up from this nightmare.

we need a 12 step plan for panic.

step 1: admit we were powerless over covid.

(though don't hold your breath on leaders getting to the "ask forgiveness and make amends" step. that's not their style at all...)
