I'm so sad to learn of the passing of Cleveland weatherman, animal advocate, and icon Dick Goddard.

He was a neighbor for a bit. Halloween was the best. Oh, how we loved the satiny Woolly Bear stickers we'd find among our treats. 1/3

My favorite memory is of a scorching hot summer day. I was out for a walk, and Mr. Goddard was out watering his lawn.

We exchanged a word about the heat, and he turned his garden hose on me. I was drenched. 2/3

We laughed. And as I walked away, he said, "tell your mom Don Webster did it." He was a gem.
