i got an eviction notice two weeks ago in the middle of a very bad summer for my mental health. it has collapsed my ability to function and to plan, let alone find a new place. the next few months of evictions will be crushing to people. https://twitter.com/lpolgreen/status/1290642508402364416
i can’t think a single worse thing for a public health crisis than thousands of families on the move, in dire need and staring down an economic crisis.
except for the complete silence from political and economic leaders on the subject.
but i am lucky in that horrible way that capitalism makes you feel fortunate for being crushed by a slightly more cushioned wheel: i have family, a partner and options. and yet i could hear echoes of my own despair in these women who have none of my luck. https://apnews.com/833d91877e2f0fa913c5258978a9e83c
there’s nothing to do. and i have no energy for the fight even if there was. (and yes i will probably write about it but i am focused on pulling back from A Pretty Bad Time.)
