It’s another day where the Douglas County Board will likely be spending more of that $166 million in CARES Act money. I’ll tweet any updates below.
Judge Horacio Wheelock is asking for around $650k from the board for the County District Court.

This includes a remodel, updated video conferencing, upgraded sound technology & secured access control.

Unclear exactly how this relates to covid, but I'm guessing that's coming
Wheelock says they scrambled after the pandemic, now they’re able to buy equipment to do proceedings remotely...easier.

He calls the technology he’s asking for “the future.”
Wheelock says they have over 300 hearings a month and they’re manically working to get all them done virtually.

Says buying this technology would ensure people in custody get hearings quickly.
