Let's have a quick one here this afternoon for the younger generation.

It's about MENTORSHIP

A thread
I think there are a lot of misconceptions about this particular "SHIP" called MentorSHIP which I can't address right now but I just want to pick on one which affects Mentees.
An opportunity to be mentored demands you give as much as you seek to receive from the mentor. It goes both ways!
Mentorship is not a one sided venture.

It must be profitable to both parties else one party is being robbed.

Look at what Apostle Paul has to say on it. Philemon 1:10/11
Yes the mentor has more value to offer you but you cannot be "offerless" 🤷🏾‍♂️

Bring something to the table, look within and bring value to the table!
A skill
Knowledge
Time
Something within your possession that can help him achieve his vision.
This is one of the reasons why prospective mentors turn down some persons.

There's nothing on the receiving end.

There's no way you can add value back to them so you don't get considered🤷🏾‍♂️
Another reason is our directness 😄

We barely know each other and you're asking me to mentor you... AWKWARD!

Personally I don't "accept" Mentees but I know those I mentor. I select them after careful observation. Hope you've a clue now on what not to do next time.
You may have started like Onesimus, being unprofitable but after this thread, please sit down and draft something valuable you can bring to the negotiating table so you will be eligible to receive much more.

Amen?
