so i've recently finished my year of rest and relaxation on audiobook, and i feel like talking a little bit about it...
i loved the audiobook. the narrator did such a great job 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 i could tell the characters' voices apart quite easily, it was convenient listening to her voice!
ANYWAY, i gave this book 4 out of 5 stars. i liked it, clearly. i dont know about others who have read this bc i havent checked the reviews (i dove right into this book not really knowing abt anything other than the fact that the title was self-explanatory) -
but i felt like this book has a layer of humor.. idk whether i was high on comedy shows (been watching a lot of comedy shit) while reading this but i legit chuckled quite a lot of times while listening to the audiobook
i feel like our main character is sassy (and depressed) and she cracked me up... i cant really put a finger on which part tho.. i've returned the book to my library BUT i remember her talking about her 'best friend' in like 'whatever bitch' mood
again idk tho maybe i kinda saw this book from an additional perspective (aside from 'it depicts depression' perspective) bc i saw a little bit of myself in her.... like where its so painfully numb but you can always find a little humor around the corner.. idk if it makes sense
but it legit felt like standing in front of a mirror 😭 i too did take my b*nzo prescription irregularly a couple of times in an attempt to doze off & sleep on my problems & feelings bc i couldnt stand it no more i just had to sleep sleep sleep on em all
what i was trying to say is, our main character's feelings are quite relatable to most of us although we're probably on different intensities... i hope she's alright now tho

and the plot is quite narrow & straightforward ofc bc this is a character-driven book
so its pretty neat to finish rather quickly. but somehow i got a tiny issue with the ending bc i feel like it was too abruptly... like bitch tell me moreee... how are you doing how are you feeling is everything totally okay.... & what's up w the last chapter
